Un bijou rare a été découvert dans l’œuvre d’Ansel Adams. «Sierra Nevada: The John Muir Trail», à l’origine publié dans une édition de 500 exemplaires en 1938, est une publication extraordinaire à bien des égards. De 1984 à 1976, Ansel Adams a produit sept portfolios, qui étaient tous limités à 10 ou 15 tirages photographiques signés par l’auteur.

Bien qu’il a dit ne pas aimer la photographie couleur, Ansel Adams a néanmoins produit un travail hautement accompli dans un petit contenu de travail en couleur, duquel ont été sélectionnées quelques images pour en former l’ouvrage ici présent.
